This past year's best videos and DVDs offered up a variety of
fare for little eyes, hearts and minds. Some took their cues from
real world and added to our ever-evolving knowledge of what makes
kids tick---and what tickles them too. Others converted favorite
storybooks into eye-popping entertainment. And one very special
release, inspired by the heroes of September 11, offers an educational,
uplifiting story, starring Sesame Street's familiar, fuzzy red
friend.

This video lesson features clips of babies in action (taking a
bath, for example), blended with low-key footage of an American
Sign Language instructor signing, and then saying, various words,
such as "diaper," "shirt," and "shoes."
